My South is...sipping the nectar from honeysuckles every summer

There's this book I've been eyeing since last fall. Everytime I read a little bit of it, it makes me tear up...in the best of ways. The book is My South and it's been culled together from a Turner South special in which people discuss what makes the South *their* South. I think all people should be southern, maybe for a week, well....maybe a month of their lives.

I don't always like the goings on, but I love the South--for all the reasons you mentioned and more. I'm going to have to check that book out.

The closest I have been to the American south was Dallas and I was there because my dad was in hospital. Not exactly an enjoyable tour of front porches and lemonade. I should remedy that someday.

I do love how much you love your home. It reminds me of how much I love where I live, yet I'm afraid to write about it for fear that people will listen to me and move here and then I'll have to leave, because our population is pushing 400 already and sometimes the traffic makes me want to punch people. :)
