I hate it when I can't figure out what I'm writing. I have to write a short story for my fiction writing class next week. No problem, right? Except I'm having problems writing it. No way, write what you want. Better to write what interests you, write it well, get a good grade, than to write what you think he wants, write poorly 'cause you're just not into it, and then get a bad grade.

Writing's subjective anyway. You've got the tools, and your mechanics are good. If he gives you a bad grade because he doesn't like the subject matter then he needs to find a new job.

Fantasy and science-fiction not serious? I think I just heard the ghosts of Asimov and Tolkein wailing and cursing.

Pssh! What a moron.
