I find it ironic, that there have been only two times in my life I have been tempted to chuck a book against a wall in frustration. And both of those times, the books have dealt with vampires. Infantile vampires at that. Clearly, there is a message here.

Really? What books?

Come to think of it, I've had that problem with only two books as well. Bleak House by Charles Dickens and a book on the Salem Witch trials. I had to read the second book in order to write a report for history class.

I don't usually read vampire stories. Except for Dracula. Any good ones out there?

Well, the first book was Valentine's Exile by E.E. Knight. It's the fifth book in the Vampire Earth series. I've never particularly liked vampires, they're just not something that interests me (I go more for creatures like dragons and griffins) but my brother knew the author and got the first book in the series, Way of the Wolf signed for me. So I read it. Now, that was a good book and I would recommend it. Because they aren't really vampires, it's just done in a different way. So, I'm still reading the series (we're on book 7 or 8 now, I think) but that one book... ugh. The last line of book was the worst ending I've ever read because it was so ridiculously ambiguous. I was so mad because I felt so jipped. So, even though I loved that series (still do, to a degree) I was really pissed at the end of that book.

And then the second time, today, I was reading Breaking Dawn, those Stephenie Meyer books. My friend has been pestering me to read them forever so I finally have and those are the books I've been bulldozing through ( ... )

And what message is that? That you shouldn't include vampires in any of your books? That you shouldn't see Interview with a Vampire? That the undead acting babyish is a strange idea?

Umm, I was just going with, I need to be cautious about any vampire books I pick up. But I don't have any plans to include vampires in my books (though Tolkien pulled it off with Thuringwethil). I'm still resistant against Interview with a Vampire, but that's more an annoyance with Anne Rice. She doesn't let people write fanfic about her mythology and that grates... barring someone from writing at all is a crime to me. I can't really say that any of them act babyish... it's just weird. The plots that surround these infants make me just want to bang my head against a wall.

Totally know what you mean with Breaking Dawn. I was jumping around and screaming when reading it. My equivalent to wanting to chuck a book. My fiance was telling me to calm down. The whole middle part was... Why? Just why? And Bella was annoying. And... compared to the other books in the series, I just didn't understand that one. I don't know why she went there. Anyways... I started laughing when I was reading the comments because I felt the same freaking way.

THANK YOU! Seriously, I just couldn't fathom the middle part at all, it just didn't make sense to me. Oh, I'm carrying some demon spawn that is killing me from the inside out? Cool, sounds like a great idea! This won't end badly at all! *smacks head* I still don't know how I feel about it... I mean, I like how it all ended up, but just, I don't particularly like the idea of Renesmee. Does that make sense? Ugh, I don't know. At least I have someone to commiserate with!
