And let fire season begin...

So, here in lovely San Diego county, the electric company has come up with a new plan, in the hopes of preventing large fires like last year. If the winds are sustained at a certain velocity (35 mph, I think) they're going to shut off power. It's been ridiculously windy the past two days and I keep wondering if my computer is suddenly going to ( Read more... )

I saw the govenator talking about that today. It's pretty much a yearly thing, isn't it?

So, the Hollywood marines got a little hot!

You mean the turning the power off thing? It might be... I don't know, this is the first time I've been out here for the fire season, normally I'm in Chicago by now! Haha, yep, the Marines got a bit roasty toasty!

Aaaand it looks like my old 'hood (or close to it) is on fuego.

That's one thing to be said for living in this desert shithole--there's nothing to burn.

See? There is a bright side! Okay, maybe not a bright side, but a slightly less dark side. (I know I stole that from somewhere, but I can't remember right now.)

Hope those fires aren't too close to you. I don't quite understand how turning the power off will prevent fires but that might be just me.

Hey, if all else fails you can always fudge it! :) Sooo... the end is in sight? I admit that I'll be sad to see it end. But then all good things must come to an end eventually right?

Stay cool and I hope that you're having a good one!

The theory is, that if the high winds snap a power line, the sparking edges won't start a fire. Because everything is tinder out here, the slightest thing will burn the whole state. Lovely.

My research today showed I'm going to have to fudge it. Oh well, not like we don't do that every day! No, I meant the end of the chapter is in sight, not the whole story! At least, I don't think the whole story. I'm honestly not sure where I'm going with it after this chapter...

Whew! I thought you were talking about the whole story. I feel a bit better now.

I'm honestly not sure where I'm going with it after this chapter...

Yup, I'm having the same problem.
