She told him about the twelve labors of Hercules; about Achilles and his gorram heel; Helen of Troy, who’s face had launched a thousand ships. He’d heard some ‘a these stories before, 'a course, but he’d never heard ‘em the way she told ‘em, her voice flowing over him like a benediction.

I love this...like she's learned the way to heal him and it's in her voice...he recognizes it and takes comfort in it...

I have read all your sections and can't wait to read more. Wow, I like the slow and reluctant way he comes to terms with the way things will be between them. Poor guy never had a chance...the big cutie!
