Watching Ballet Shoes
I don't care if Emma Watson barely even thinks about acting in this - I loved this book when I was little and the other Noel Streatfeild I read, White Boots which was actually my favourite.
Anyway, it's christmassy and lovely and, weather permitting, I AM GOING HOME TOMORROW!!

WHITE BOOTS! YOU KNOW WHITE BOOTS! *stares at you in awe and wonder* I've never met anyone else who knew what I was talking about, ever. Oh my goodness. It's one of my all time favourites. Sadly though I never got to read Ballet Shoes - I found it in the library after reading White Boots, but someone had ripped half of it out, and no library near me has stocked it since :(

I LOVE WHITE BOOTS! I think from the moment Harriet's legs are described as cotton-wool-y I was sold - it's definitely one of the books that made me love reading. I can't remember which film it is but someone's asking a woman who works in a book shop about Noel Streatfield's shoes series and the shop worker doesn't know what she's on about but the protagonist overhears and says they must read it and they're her favourite books and stuff - obviously the details are a little vague, but I was really excited when I saw that bit!

If you can find it anywhere you should definitely try and read Ballet Shoes, I think it'd be worth it even though it's a children's book - they are both on my list to read as soon as I finish my degree!

By the way - your card and special something has been posted but Royal Mail is on a major go slow, which they are blaming on the snow, and I haven't had post in days so I have no idea when it might arrive - anyway, extended Christmas! Excellent.

I'm 99% sure that film is 'You've Got Mail' with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks.

HOORAY, EXTENDED CHRISTMAS! I posted yours at the beginning of last week, so I really hope it gets there SOMETIME. Normally it only takes seven to ten days (once, from Glasgow, it took THREE and we were like :O because it often takes five days to send things WITHIN THIS CITY. Magic Kilt Powers or something got it through), so I'm crossing my fingers all your weather issues don't slow it down TOO much. Or that Australia Post remembers the UK is a real place.
