i missed a lot of great films at the theatre this year, however i did get to watch a very long engagement last night on dvd. i guess i feel the same as i always do after watching a jeunet movie, it is splendid, real and yet very much fantasy. i can't explain it, only recommend it.. so, go rent it

really don't want to offend your impressed mood (i do respect it), just expressing my oponion: the film lacks sense. you see, i'm rather romantic person too and i LOVE "le fabuleux destin d'amélie poulain" movie with the same actors. but "a very long engagement" is just too pathetic and silly.
