I'm in complete agreement with you. My biggest fear is that the old man will keel over and die before he finishes the series. No other fantasy series develops characters to the extent he does only to have them killed in such offhand manners. Reading "A Game of Thrones" was one of the most pleasant surprises 3var!

I can't tell you how crazy the random deaths of his characters make me. Normally, I'd dump a series that tortures people in such a fashion, but this time I have to keep reading to see who dies next! MRGH!
