It's been a long time since I've done a substantial post. This isn't going to be one of them, but I wanted to touch base with you folks. I'm stealing this idea from one of my lj friends, but am too lazy to link to her

We could always start trying to force ourselves onto a walking schedule, do a few loops around eachothers' complexes and the school board a few times a week.. or just go to Ben Burton and poke fun at all the creepy gay men.
And I want to live in Canada, btw, but I don't know if I can get a faculty job there. :/
I know, I'm really upset about it. Not to mention there is only 7 days of my medicine left and I have no idea how we're going to get some more. Ugh, not a good week.
I would say that I'll walk with you and stuff, but I know I won't. I'm a sorry ass that way. Is Ben Burton a creepy gay guy park? Heh, I didn't know that.
I'd like to live in Canada too. I've heard it's really easy to get citizenship there, but I don't know if those people are full of shit.
Oo, what are you starting with your mother? Do you think Silver Empire will take off soon?
I don't yet how it is yet, because I haven't had training. I go in on Saturday to do it. I don't really see it as being much responsibility. We just basically get more freedom to make decisions and check people's work. The base pay is $8 so that makes it worth it to me. ;) I'm cheap like that.
I am sorry your life is going poorly, baby. I wish I could help.
As for Robert Jordan...I stopped reading his books ages ago, because I think he was a terrible human being. He got fans hooked on his series and then decided to milk them for every penny he possibly could by writing bullshit filler stories that didn't go anywhere and didn't serve any purpose other than raping fans' pockets. I think he's a really terrible person for that. Despite being an immensely talented author.
Thank you, I wish I could help myself. :) Hopefully it'll get better soon.
I've been thinking about your Robert Jordan comment for awhile and I'm not sure how I feel about the issue. I know his stories are lengthy, but as far as I can tell, they all link in together. Maybe I'm just young, naive, and optimistic by thinking he wouldn't do that. Then again I'm not sure if I could blame him for doing it. It's hard to be a writer. How far did you get in the books?
6 or 7. But the series started out as a trilogy. Then went to a 7 part series. Then got really popular...and he started writing books like #5, #6 and #7 where entire middle portions of the book were just filler words and cheesy, cheap cliffhangers that weren't resolved for 2 books (Matt's being left under a wall for an entire intervening book being the most famous example). Plus it turned into formulaic fantasy. Where two guys went to do this...and we read about them until they get to a crisis moment...then we find out what the other two guys, or other two girls were doing, until they get to a cliffhanger, and then we switch to the third group. Until they get to a cliffhanger, then we go back to the first group...or onto a fourth group...or into a discussion about Aiel philosophy or the goings on at the leashed-women's court or...some other obscure shit like the topography of Camhain. Wtf. Eh. Really disappointed me. If you read the Spring book, it was almost a new series about Lan and whatsherface, that he could have done a much

See, I like all those things. I like that he changes prospective in the middle of a cliffhanger and I like reading about Aiel philosophy. It really brings the story alive and draws me in. That is always my favorite part of books and movies.
It's like there are two kinds of RPers in the world, those who want to have quick scenes which result in one to five well-written sentences that get the point across asap. Then there are those who like to babble on for a good paragraph or two and describe the clothing our characters are wearing, or the way they hold their head, or a billion other details. I think the same goes with story telling. I wouldn't be nearly as impressed with the books if it didn't have those elements.
Of course I completely agree that having the plot left hanging with him being dead and all is rather perturbing to me.
