Trying to imagine what it will be like... what we will need. How it will feel... how we will react. Planning not only the agenda, but for the resources we'll need ( Read more... )

Thanks Cathy. It was an adventure. Now that I am back to the daily grind, I find myself frequently daydreaming and replaying the ride in my mind... oh, and planning the next ride!

Willie 2 things -

1. I knew you would feel this way, but as native americans would say, and I am paraphrasing ...you have to walk a mile in their moccasins to understand

2. You have to submit the picture of Tom riding without hands to the Adventure cycling website for the picture of the week. Nothing represents your ride better than that picture.

That photo does tell quite a story doesn't it. I'll see what I can do to get it to Adventure Cycling.

I am really quite proud of the both of you. From the time I met your family I noticed when you put your minds to something, it is accomplished.
I am happy I know you and I can only hope one day in my life I have the chance to experience such an adventure.

With much love and respect,
TKM

Thanks TKM. Tom and I appreciate your comments.

I hear you are on your own great adventure - of a different sort, but an adventure of discovery none the less. Best wishes on your summer internship. Knock 'em dead.

All of us at the Streetman family are happy that you became a part of our lives over the last few years. I hope we keep that friendship up for many many years to come.

Sounds like it was a transformative experience for you, my friend. But... how could it not be.

Appreciate your sharin' it along the way. Almost felt as if I'd stolen a copy of Meriwether Lewis's journal when reading about your progress each day.

Yes, how could it not be. Indeed. I think that the full impact is only now dawning on me, as I remember and replay the ride in my mind. Wow.

Thanks for following the play-by-play.

There's a rumor circulating that your next journey is a trek of the Himalaya to Everest Base Camp to further your Botany studies with some of the climbers before they begin ascent. If so, be careful -- the Himalaya is unpredictable as hell this time of year. And besides... the herb at Base Camp is way, way overrated. It's the lack of oxygen that gives it the kick, man... it's the lack of oxygen.

Wow, it sounds like it was a fabulous trip from start to finish for both of you! I am so happy for you two that you were able to do this, as well as took the time to do this! This will, as you said, Bill, remain in both of your memories forever! Congratulations on your accomplishment; you should both be VERY proud...I know that I am!

Love

Kathy (Aunt Kathy to Tom, :)
