I thought about that, but I'm afraid to ruin him.. you know, further. I'm a "skulls and bones" lady. He's my first taxidermy piece. I'd like to repair him so his stuffing isn't showing, and so he's more "stable". He's okay, but he could be better. Any thoughts?
If you're uncomfortable working on him yourself, I recommend Zhon for repairs. She's a pro and her prices are fair.
But if you'd like the make the attempt, I recommend getting some apoxie sculpt and patching the holes and resculpting a little of the face. You could also give him eyes too. You can recreate the texture of the skin with a little patience using a sharp tool (like a porcupine quill). If there are really large areas to patch, maybe a paper mache? I make my own paper mache using cardboard egg cartons and it works nicely. Then I use a thin layer of apoxie clay and sculpt over the mache.
