Evolution and genes.

Evolution just makes sense. I am a firm believer in evolution and will defend it to my dying day. The scientific evidence is overwhelming when it comes to evolution. How people can deny it is beyond me. Let's look at something real quick ( Read more... )

when i used to go to bible school (age 3-5) i'd always get in trouble for questioning things that just didn't make sense:

"how could god make all that from nothing? did he have a recipe for humans or something?"
"he created a miracle"
"like magic?"
"yes, somewhat"
"but i thought witch craft was against the bible..."
"go stand in the corner you stupid bitch"

or
"HOW COULD HE WALK ON WATER IT DOESNT SEEM PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE!"
"that's what HE said - wait no, it was a miracle!"

or maybe it's the fact that he sent his own son to be killed. NICE.

i dunno, i don't know as much about the bible so i can't really say anything, but even as a kid i noticed the hypocrisy in the whole god thing.

i think we should blow ourselves up and leave earth to the plants and cockroaches and other things that can live through anything.

Leave it to the jewish race to destroy belief in God.

No, no, no. I'm just kidding.

Hmm, I dunno about this. I believe there is a different realm, such as heaven, and I believe there is a creator. But evolution is undeniable. Perhaps it's just the christians who fucked things up with the bible. I go by christianity, but I do not try too hard to believe the bullshit that comes out of the bible, it's flawed. Perhaps it was the creators plan for man to evolve from ape like form. Perhaps it's meant to be like it is. I don't know, honestly.

ok, don't think im stupid or anything, but i've always wondered who actually wrote the bible in the first place. i mean, i know that king james translated it into english, but who originally wrote it? is this common knowledge that im too stupid to pay attention to, or do other people wonder about it to?

i don't know either and i don't really care <.< >.>;

you could say religion isn't my thing, but that would be the understatement of the new year.

it's because those damn bible thumpers ruined it for me and i just can't get past their hypocricy.

Well, some of the Old Testament was written by Abraham, and some by Moses I believe. And the new testament, they're all written by the different apostles. Damn n00bs...

you know it's all fine and dandy to question things, but you can't call it hypocrasy just because you don't seem to be at the point in your life in which you understand it ( ... )

most of the verses you compared were between the old and new testaments. when Christ died alot of things in the bible changed. in the old testament God was a very different God than what He is now. because Jesus is always at the throne of God pleading our case we don't have to worry about God's wrath. when Christ was killed on the cross alot of the old religeous mumbo jumbo died too ( ... )

ah, i see o_o;

i can understand about the differences in translation, what with the "god created the world in 7 days" thing; many people take it literally to mean, 7 actual days when i read that i thought 7 "god" days. <.<;

i've also just realized that since the bible is written by a lot of different people, there are going to be discrepancies between a few things.

it's certainly refreshing to hear a non-bible thumping christian's thoughts :D
