I've known plenty of right wing nuts who are like dogs; they listen to the tone of the voice, not the content of the message. If it sounds disdainful, they feel a smug sense of satisfaction that temporarily impairs their cognitive functioning. Republican leaders know this and try to ensure that constituents are surrounded by the voices of Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and Bill O'Reilly at all times.

I'm not saying that I'm immune to the occasional moment of self-satisfied glee when I watch The Daily Show, but jeez... the things these people who are in positions of power get away with saying!

Both parties have a knack for choosing the most embarrassing bumbling idiots they can find to be their chairmen. I mean, Howard Dean? The guy may not be actually stupid, but he sure has a talent for making himself sound that way.
