So the last good Sonic game was for DS. Does anyone see any hope for this series or is it pretty much a lost cause?

Sonic Rivals for the PSP was pretty good. Not the shining gem of the series (nor a Sonic Team developed title), but it had the fast paced running all Sonic games should have, and the multiplayer was actually not bad.

Also, Sonic and the Secret Rings is coming out in early 2007 for the Wii. The track level design and innovative controls make it a lot better than the 3D Sonic games before it. I have a lot of high hopes for it after E3 and I think they could really pull it off.

Don't lose hope yet. :)

I think Sonic Team needs to lay off the Sonic games and make another "Nights into Dreams" game.
