nope, haven't tried those. My feet start (uncomfortably) swelling after about 1.5 mi in moderately warm weather. I run in New Balance Minimus shoes (they also have vibram technology in them).

How are they on longer distance runs?

my friend who sometimes runs with me is adamant that "at level of running" I need big cushioned shoes, but I loooove being barefoot, and hate bulky stuff about my foot. On the other hand, I have pretty poor technique, it's true, and I might be hurting my knees and god knows what else.

I also have new balance minimus, love them, but they are for kickboxing/aerobics/zumba classes that I take.

I only run correctly in five-fingers, however - on my toes. When you barefoot (which vibrams imitate better then anything else), you place you feet correctly running, so my back and buttock does not hurt afterwords .

I have never ran more then 3-4K, so no idea about longer distance run.
And five-fingers don't work on treadmill.

Read a lot of articles about how dangerous it is to run on the cushioned shoes.

just watched a video on cushioned vs barefoot running (looked at a bunch of nerdsfittness articles).
yeah, i land on my toes! but i thud. thud-thud-thud on my toes somehow (so I thought I run incorrectly). Interesting.

Thank you!
I think I will try with a larger size minimus first. (I am running in a longer run May 18th -- 7.3 mi, so I am not 100% I would have time to get used to the 5-fingered Vibrams.... but I will think about it ;^) )
