Woodpeckers... in Albuquerque?

So, are woodpeckers common in Albuquerque? Because I can't remember ever seeing them before, but this morning whilst taking Tuggy-dog for a walk, we ran across a couple of them in a tree. After getting back to the house, I grabbed my D80 and went back to get some pics. The auto 18-135mm lens just wasn't cutting it, so I went back to the house

yeah, my folks have occasionally had them in their backyard for basically forever. i think they may prefer to hang out up in the mountains though.
