TMC Shanghai RR: A. Murray d. R. Federer 46 76(3) 75Federer's played his last ATP point of the season, after losing an epic battle against Andy Murray in round-robin play in Shanghai. Basically he was unable to capitalize on his chances, of which there were many, and paid dearly for it. Lots of heart... but the serve was tremendously wonky, perhaps

Federer's won Basel for the third year in a row. Saw the highlight reel vs. Nalbandian, and it was really quite wonderful play from him. A number of backhand winners, one of them a crosscourt zinger. Great points from both players.
Madrid F: [4] A. Murray d. G. Simon 64 76(6)Er, I'm quite sure this title appears somewhere down the page as well, but it's only a testament to how far Murray's's come in the past few months. Apart from a blip at the Olympics, he's done extremely well since Wimbledon, winning two Masters Series shields in a row and making his first Grand Slam final

Madrid SF: [4] A. Murray d. [2] R. Federer 36 63 75Ah, this is slightly disappointing, I think, especially with the way Federer was playing earlier this week. Stream was stop-start throughout, but from what I could make out, Murray did a good job neutralizing Federer's game. I followed most of the third set, and you could see him putting pressure

The movement's back, the hitting's crisp, and he's even got his 2004-6 aura. About the only thing that was missing from Federer's game was backhand winners, but then again he didn't hit any backhands wildly

[1] R. Nadal v. F. Lopez - Nadal Lopez is surprisingly good on hard courts, but I think Nadal will easily handle his countryman. Still, it could be interesting.

Madrid well underway now. Couple of shock results, such as Nieminen beating Youzhny. I also picked Moya to beat Kohlschreiber, but only found out later that the Spaniard hasn't been in form lately. Anyway, the match between Nadal and Gulbis is going on now, and I suspect that the crowd in Madrid have been waiting to see this match. Nadal flying the

Been really out of the loop lately, tennis-wise. Internet's fine and all but I don't seem to have any time on weekdays to really follow the tournaments any more. Will be doing brackets and so on for Madrid and Paris, however, so expect to see me hanging around here in the weeks to come. I may be able to scoreboard the night sessions, but anything

Well, the new meets the old in about 3.5 hours. I can hardly wait (although I'd probably be asleep by then). Hope Federer wins, although Murray must be in good form? Well, officially I'd say:
