Mm, actually, that's only when you want to earn extra points, you kick it over the goal post. The name is very misleading, the ball is actually thrown and carried the majority of the time. ^^() I can explain. It's a fairly complicated sport.

A Chocobo is a big yellow bird.

It stands at about 7 foot tall and they're really strong, so you can ride them. They've got long necks and long legs. They're awesome! But I get sick riding them, cause of the bouncing and how fast they run.
