Another couple of passings of old favs

I heard on the news this morning as I was getting ready for work of the passing of an old favorite, Mary Travers. She was the Mary in Peter, Paul and Mary and that group was a favorite of mine. Both of them will be missed. I'm always even more saddened when the people are younger than my parents. It makes the passing of time all so more real, so tangible. Mary's voice will be missed. For almost 30 years, it has calmed my profoundly autistic nephew like no other music.

Yeah, I was saddened to come across the article about his death in this morning's newspaper. Laugh-In was one of the iconic shows of our generation, and who could possibly have not liked the characters played by Henry Gibson, especially when he's holding a flower and reciting poetry? The last film I saw him in was Magnolia, playing a bitter old queen at a Gay bar.

AND MARY TRAVERS? Boy, what a sad day this is for the counterculture, and I mean that in all sincerity. I had a great deal of appreciation for PP&M.
