(no subject)
well, this past week has been quite a bit like the last. Except for wednesday, when i slashed my arm with a box cutter. It's not really as bad as it sounds, but for those of you with weak stomachs, I'll cut the details anyway. It wasn't a really deep cut or anything. It's about 5 inches long, on the underside of my left forearm, but no stitches, I didn't even go to the hospital or anything. However, I still found myself very light headed and nauseous when i realized I'd cut myself. Fortunately, adrenaline managed to keep me in control until I got some gauze on it, but once I'd controlled the bleeding (which actually wasn't that bad anyway), I came very close to passing out. This has happened twice before that I can remember. Once, when I was much younger (12 or something), and I put my hand into a window, broke it, and cut my palm. (i didn't actually go through the glass, but it did break). The second time was about two years ago when I stabbed my palm with a little screwdriver. I've given much thought to why, but I can't really figure it out. I'm pretty sure it's not the sight of blood. I'm generally not thrilled at the sight of blood, but I've never known it to make me want to pass out. Besides, the first two occasions there was virtually no blood to speak of, because they were both small puncture wounds. I don't think it's pain either, because I've definitely had worse pain, and it hasn't caused me to nearly pass out. The nearest thing I can think of is that I get a panic attack over what I may have done. "oh my god, I've just cut myself, will i need stitches, did i hit a vein, what about my tendons, will my left arm ever work again" That sort of thing. *shrug* I dunno. Anyway...
So, other than that, pretty standard week. Which means yet another week where I haven't seen anyone (aside from the people I work with, obviously). So, I get Sunday and Mondays off, and I would very much like to see some people. I'm planning on going up to NoVA this Saturday night after work (so, I'd arrive around 3AM). If you want to do something either Sunday or Monday evening, let me know. If you're in Cville and want to do something, let me know as well, my plans can me changed.
On a related note, movies I haven't seen and want to/could be easily persuaded to go see:
Pirates 2 (definitely want to see)
An Inconvenient Truth (definitely want to see)
MI:III (it's showing at University Mall, so it's cheap)
Superman (kinda want to see)
X-Men III (I want to see this in a theater)
Da Vinci Code (maybe wait until the DVD, but if other people are going I'd be in)
