Phillip made his way eagerly out of the Great Hall, happy to have managed to escape his teammates, and through the corridors and stairways to the fifth floor classroom. His bag and his broom were still with him as he half-walked, half-ran there. When he reached the door, he glanced around to make sure no one had followed him or was watching, then he grabbed the handle and pulled it open with an enthusiastic tug ( ... )

Before Professor Peregrine had the chance to respond to Phillip's question, Saffron entered and he grinned widely in greeting. "Good to see you here, Saffron," he said. "I was just about to tell Phillip that I would be teaching you as well."

"And don't worry about the books," he nodded, understanding her reasoning. "There are actually quite a substantial number of book on transfiguration theory that might help you grasp the process on becoming an animagus, but I leave you two to read that at your own pace and in your own time."

"Today, before we begin, are there any questions either of you have for me?" he asked. "I don't expect either of you to turn into animagi today - that would be short of a miracle - but if you have any doubts or apprehensions about the process, it would be best to get them out of the way. Only when you're clear of mind and confident, then the process will take."

Phillip couldn't help it: his jaw dropped at the sight of Saffron walking through the door. She was the last person he would have thought of for this sort of thing. After all, she was always going on about not breaking rules and was ever after him for all the rule-breaking he did. Surely she'd never agree to do something dangerous and reckless like this ( ... )
