The news of the Hogsmeade trip was welcome to Kilpatrick, even if it did mean she'd have more work to do. She thought it would be best to keep Hogwarts following its ageless traditions as much as possible; if they changed it, then they would be giving in to fear, letting the other side win. She was not the kind to be frightened into hiding by these scare tactics, and she was glad to see Minerva was keeping with Dumbledore's staunch beliefs as well.
She had settled back into the routines of Hogwarts with no trouble at all and was still enjoying the simple pleasures of returning home. It was also nice to not be constantly watching her back and sleeping with one eye open; Hogwarts was certainly the safest place for anyone to be. She was enjoying all the good nights of sleep that she'd been missing out on recently.
Not to mention the joys of being back to classes and her beloved creatures again. Nothing in the world cheered Kilpatrick like the many beasts under her care. Of course, she couldn't say the same about all of her students, but there were enough of them who still made the job worthwhile. Most of the time.
