Note-taking, as always. Copying down names from the Prophet, cross-referencing for later. It was careful, tiring work, always had been, but you could perhaps find a timeline of the last two years right here in his journal. And Jory was the least organised person in the world, honestly, yet he had three quills laid out, all of different colours; one colour for fact, one colour for opinion, one colour for questions.
His journal was starting to read like a detective's notebook, lists of names that could be read as suspects, but they weren't; he was just curious. In years, he wondered if he'd be able to look back at these lists and check them off, mutter 'he was on that side', 'she was on this side', 'they didn't survive'. It was rather morbid, but politics were morbid, weren't they.

He flipped to the Quidditch scores instead. Refreshing.
