I don't love everything about The Web Planet, but I agree that there is a lot to like in there. My absolute fave moment is one you haven't listed, so I will add it to the tally if I may:

8) Barbara leading a military resistance and being the one who saves the entire planet and everybody's lives at the end (by using the Isoptope device on the Animus), while the Doctor and Vicki are lying insensible on the floor.

Everything Barbara does is love, but that is one of her finest moments.

I really must watch the DVD of this I bought two years ago.

It's best watched as part of a Hartnell marathon, I think; if you just watch it on its own you probably end up thinking it's odd but a bit slow, rather than fantastic which it actually is.
