The topic was something along the lines of "songs for a social occasion," which was so vague I had a hard time thinking of a theme. Having just visited my oldest friend Mark in Ohio over Thanksgiving, I decided to make a collection of songs suitable for a reunion with my oldest friend Mark in Ohio. So cool! The cover images made me laugh :)

And I recognize and love some of the songs, especially on the first disc. All I had to do was see "Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)" and the refrain was bopping through my head.

Sometimes, the most personal mixes are the best.

When I was young, my family had a membership to a pool club. Since my mother didn't work outside the home, we went to the club all day every day during the summer. She sat in a lounge chair with her friends and talked and smoked, and we kids more or less amused ourselves. I got so I looked forward to rain, just to break up the monotony.

One of the things I and another girl my age did was make a fort out of blankets and a picnic table and sit underneath reading Nancy Drew and listening to her brother's portable radio.
