I read this last night but didn't have a chance to comment.

Love this article. You know I have a great fondness for this kind of thing, the gentle weird whimsy that seems stitched into the fabric of American life, but more particularly in California (and Florida, to a lesser extent.) I hope Inouye is able to put up her statue soon.
