I finally got around to doing something I'd been threatening to do for a long time - I had the walls re-painted in my apartment's living room and kitchen. The lead singer from my band, who's both a very experienced professional painter and a close friend, handled the painting. That worked out perfectly, because he did a great job, and I didn't ( Read more... )

I like your style. I'm trying to decide if my favorites are the nifty clocks or the travel posters -- both are fantastic, though.

The artwork is gorgeous, I love the clock, too, but I can't get over this sentence:

"Not to mention the fact that the top of our City Hall, opened in 1927, was designed to serve as a docking station for dirigibles."

Wow. I mean, wow. That is one of the coolest architectural features I've ever heard of. I kind of imagine you coming to work, taking the elevator to your office, and transforming into your steampunk persona, goggles and all.

And we actually saw a blimp last night, heading for the city to cover tonight's game. It was just at twilight, so we could only see the silhouette as it passed. Awesome.

Yes, that's exactly what I do when I get to work. wwolfe October 10 2008, 13:01:39 UTC
Or, at least I *wish* I did.

In fact, I open my Venetian blinds and watch the sun come up over the city. I get to see three great buildings: Frank Gehry's Disney Concert Hall, the Water and Power Building (one of the very few International Style buildings I like), and the Griffith Observatory. I always find myself thinking how different this is from little old Medina, Ohio.

Oh wow! I bet the blue looks fabulous. And I love the posters in your office. I've been thinking about doing something in ours, but as there are four (!) of us in there now, I fear a consensus would be impossible.
