anniversaries are odd things. you take care of you first, eh?
tis ... hmm, thanksgiving weekend 1990, so 17 years? since my dad and i had the convo in which i knew [he might have; i DID know] he was not going to live another year, and STILL thanksgiving weekend is different now than it was before.
i just let it be odd, now. different, now. because that's what it is.
Knowing it was coming did NOT make it easier, in a way it made it harder. Ah, this too shall pass. (hopefully)
We feed the turkeys 3-4 times a day. If the ground is snow covered 4, if not two is enough. When the snow is 2 foot deep we might feed 5 or 6 times a day.
Thanks, all hugs appreciated. Funny, I knew she was fading, yet I was still surprised. I really had hope she would have made it through the holidays. You attest???? Did you lose your mom? Big hugs back.

(turkeys are BIG eaters.....50-100 pounds of seed a week!)

Wow that is a lot of seed!

The flock of turkeys will just keep growing all winter. We are up to 43 now, started with 6 in October!

Wow, look at those turkeys! Do you have to feed them all the time, lol.

Losing your mother is one of the most tremendous losses out there, "they" say, and I'll attest to that!
