Sense?

People commonly refer to 'common sense' but really it seems that few people have it (right around with 'common courtesy' and 'common decency' in terms of being endangered of going extinct) . Was sense ever really common? If so what happened to it? Did people become less able to use their sense? Did they become less willing? Or is the whole idea of

I quote the phrase "common sense is the least common sense" every so often but I can't remember where I first heard it.

*lol* I blame technology for the disappearance of many of these things. Makes people less reliant on thinking for themselves.
