more college type stuff (you may want to skip)

So I've managed to reduce the list to a little over 30, based purely on local and the amount of majors that they offer that match up with the ones I'm interested in. I know pretty much nothing about any of the colleges/universities on the list. If your at all interested, feel free to look through and pull it to pieces. I had originally started ( Read more... )

You've got a very prestigious list here, and I can get you in contact with people at or about to go to any of the following if you remain interested:

BU
Harvard
NYU
Columbia
Mt. Holyoke

And possibly at:
Cornell
Tufts
Northeastern
Temple
some SUNY - not sure which
Ithaca
Smith

Looking at your list, I would earnestly tell you to look into cost. I'm a senior, and the thing I've learned most in the past year is some schools are very good about financial aid - and others are very bad. I'm not applying to any of these schools (too cold) so I don't know much about them personally.

Good luck!

Come to Mt Holyoke! Or Hampshire or Smith. Both are very close to Mt Holyoke ( ... )

* I meant to say that I have a friend hoping to start at Hampshire this fall. I also have a friend who's going to Harvard this fall. And I know two people (do you know Kalliona, on Sheroes?) hoping to start at Smith this fall.

Wellesley is still all girls? I thought it integrated. So what used to be the boys' school - and is it co-ed now? *is confused*

I'm not from the area, so I couldn't comment on the quality of the schools without doing some research... and I wasn't going to. :) I'm lazy. And I already went through this.

Wellesly is not co-ed, and to my knowledge never has been. I applied there last year, and it was very definitely all-girls then.

Perhaps you're thinking of Wells college, which integrated a year or so ago.

There was never a boys school attached to Wellesley, just as there was never a boys school attached to Mount Holyoke or to Smith.

Since those are all US school I don't know that much about them... do most of them separate archaeology from anthropology? Most schools here include archaeology as a field of anthropology, so it's not a separate major.

You can type in a lot of those on Wikipedia and get some basic information. Or princetonreveiw.com.
