Chuck is freakin awesome. If you like Alias you really should give Chuck a go. The first season is more procedural but after that it has a really engaging ongoing story
( ... )
Maybe. I like the humor, the characters, the family drama and the ongoing plotlines. It is beat if you watch it from the start though the first season is not as good as the latter ones. I think it was the writer strike year. However the rewards in the later seasons are bigger if you have seen the first IMO.
I watched the whole first season and most of the second season. I guess I just couldn't invest in the characters or the emotion of their situation. Oh well - good thing someone's enjoying it. :)
It's groundbreaking? Who for? Isn't it just Anime?
I liked the movie okay but never really got into the series personally. I think it might be an animation thing. The animation is better in the movie and the story seemed to lend itself to that more, but I've only watched maybe the first 5 episodes and many Anime shows can totally pull a story together in the second half which is awesome while just running through the set-up in the beginning.
Fair pick though. It's a pretty popular and successful show. Lots of praise for the soundtrack too.
I'm not sure we'll get much Anime from Jon on this list though. I'm not sure how much he has watched.

I'm not sure how much he has watched. Samurai Champloo. And Avatar: The Last Airbender if that counts (I mean, it's orientally themed, but not really Anime, although produced in Korea).
