Capital Punishment
Briefly, my thoughts on this as it had been in the news. Capital punishment doesn't deter capital crimes. It punishes commuting those crimes. It is not about revenge or making someone suffer, and there are crimes for which I think there is no useful rehabilitation

Many years ago I called in a rabid raccoon report to the local PD, and was asked "how do you know it's rabid?", to which I replied "It's 4 in the afternoon with bright sunshine, and this nocturnal creature is walking in jerky motions through a busy intersection with cars swerving around it and foam dripping from its mouth". Some people are just as obviously "rabid" and need to be removed from the world.
Fear not...the obviously rabid murderer in Boston will be kept alive through the entire appeals process. :-\
