talked to my old boss the other day....there's rumor that there's a 'big job' comming in about a month...wish me luck in that..please...i've rebooted my life 3 times now....i've got...at most...2 of those left before this particular flesh bag needs to be returned to sender

I would make them pay dearly to get you back. Or at least something. You maintained them for free for how long? You didn't get paid for how long? I'd be very happy if you could get your old life back, but unless there is other work for you out there, they can put you right back in the hole again.

You don't have to tell them you are eager to return. Just tell them that their abandoning you cost you dearly, and you want something back for it.
