As much as I'd love a world without cancer, I'm not sure I could stand that ratio of men to women!

It would pose some very interesting challenges. The idea of a world where girl children were more celebrated than male children intrigues me.

I kind of think that such a ratio of men to women would self-correct ...at the expense of the population count. Too many guys, only a few women? Yeah, that'd be one hell of a Battle Royale. :)

It would be interesting. Truth be told, I'd like to find out what (if anything) has been calculated as the threshold for gender difference and sustaining a population. I had to pull a number out of my hat. But still - I like the idea of simple scarcity causing a society to cherish women.

You know, I did not know that turtles all the way down was an actual phrase until I read your entry! I just thought it was Gary's mind working in strange ways, so I wrote about turtles. Thank you!

I confess, I had to look it up myself. I'm still brand new to the game, but from what I've seen so far, it's never just a random turn of phrase. I've learned to wiki anything I'm not already sure of. ;-}

A habit I should probably develop myself! I usually only check things when I'm completely stumped - I have a default "go to literal" setting if something seems odd to me. There's been a fair few US-only phrases that I could only work with like that because even knowing the meaning has been pretty meaningless to me!

Thank you! I'm actually surprised by how much love Grot got in the polls.
