I took one of my hairs and coated it with ~100 Ångströms of gold-palladium alloy for extra body and sheen.
Then I mounted it and stuck it in my scanning electron microscope. It's not mine, actually, since it cost about a quarter of a million dollars. Magnification is 750X. The hair looks flat because it was snipped with scissors.
Ceiling cat was watching me the whole time.
