Hello LiveJournal. That place that isn't the clusterfuck of everyone talking all at once that is Facebook. (Hm. One of Firefox's spelling suggestions for "clusterfuck" is "knuckleduster ( Read more... )

hi clif, as usual, i thoroughly enjoyed reading your post. being one of those for-the-most-part-converted-to-facebook people, which fits my lack of time, i'm happy to know that you're still posting here some of the time. i love your year-end review and the pictures you've posted. seeing the photo of erica makes me sad, too. i'm happy for all of the happiness in this post, though. you look great, and i love that bone picture!! very cool.

you're right... life is grand as long as we don't get eaten by a shark!!

happy new year to you, my dear friend.

*hugs*

I consider myself lucky that I got to read so many of your LJ entries back when you still did them, including some amazing photo sessions!

BTW, my layovers on the way to SF are always in Phoenix, so I think about you every time I'm there. Close enough, eh?

Happy New year to you too, and don't dry out this Winter, Kristi!

Dr. Z is always there for you, as am I.

40, you too? You carry it well. Maybe the pink hair and kitty and bunny costumes help too. :)

The thing about Facebook is that you rarely learn anything important about people, and even less at Twitter. Other than where they like to eat and what shows they're going to. Stuff like that. A few long, well thought-out LJ entries can reveal much more about who someone is, because what someone feels and thinks is not always revealed by what they happen to be doing.

Also maybe because people are more reserved at FB due to the probable presence of relatives and co-workers, and the use (usually) of real names. Hell,it was only yesterday that FB finally allowed the use of selective status updates.

Not 40 yet..almost (2 more years YAY!)
Facebook is perfect for my ADD, and I still post pretty much the same updates I used to post here..although it's more about timing, and thats where I can read everyone's updates soo..just keep forgetting to post here (although I always read)
I HATE Twitter! That one just annoys me, although I admit I have an interest in it to follow certain celebrities and feeds (such as "Cupcake Stop" here in NYC..it's a roving cupcake truck and they update where they are all the time on there ..heh)
Although I am going to do my "pic of the day" post I started last year on facebook and here. I'm gonna p[ost it in regards to my NYC advetires though :)

Ah, following celebrities!
I came across a couple of communities here that are odd and a little disturbing.
As I mentioned before some of them are really active.

This thread a couple of days ago had 926 comments!

If you hate Twitter, this site might at least make you laugh.

Have fun chasing the cupcake truck! Bring me one. :)

did you know this "depressing mall of mervyn's & payless" does exist... the geary mall near lucky penny. who knew? bwuahahaha!

seeing erica and reading what you said made me sad bc it hits home in many ways probably best left said somewhere else, but seeing all those pics of family and your EM images are yet another reason why enjoy your posts.

speaking of which, i took a break from writing so it wouldn't turn into a "woe is me chronicle" but i'm a regular reader. next one will include neat pics of my trips to london, visiting you and some weekenders. i've just been lazy about uploading all 700 photos to flickr.

i too have gone through a phenomenal amount of personal change this year. thankfully life has finally calmed down and yes it's not so bad when you take everything into account. thanks for being there and playing your part. ;)

did i read that right, nye this year? if so, yay!
