Lindsay, I thought you'd find this interesting. If only there were a video clip of it... maybe YouTube? Nothing on YouTube... I'll keep an eye out for something on it though.. I want to see this too

I've got another good one for you: "The Road to Clarity". It's a 6-page NYT article on highway typography and the new font being developed for use. I found it absolutely fascinating and read the whole thing in one sitting.
An excerpt: "What I saw, Pietrucha knew, was what we all may see soon enough as we rush along America’s 46,871 miles of Interstate highways. What I saw was Clearview, the typeface that is poised to replace Highway Gothic, the standard that has been used on signs across the country for more than a half-century. Looking at a sign in Clearview after reading one in Highway Gothic is like putting on a new pair of reading glasses: there’s a sudden lightness, a noticeable crispness to the letters."
mmm thank you thank you once again. i'm just starting to become obsessed with typography. i would love to acquire that font too! there's a new movie called "helvetica" coming to d.c. soon as well. i have to wonder if this font could start a whole new crowd of followers, like I have seen people swear themselves to one font like garamond or univers.
are you going to the sonata arctica concert sometime in october? my boyfriend gave me a list of three concerts from which to choose tickets for his birthday present, and that was on there. i'd be more inclined to choose that one if you and stephanie were there : P
I really wish I could, but it's on a Wednesday. Anything but weekends doesn't really work for me. They're playing in Ohio on a weekend sometime in October I might try to go to, but I don't think you want to travel all the way to Ohio.
