grey hair is good (or, apparently, more sexy than dye in mature women?) at the very least, it makes it a lot easier to streak with weird colors without bleach. (i'm kinda' looking forward to the all-natural bleach effect. is that odd?)

The Tacoma debutante has a sister with some gray hair - she's maybe 30. I found it very sexy - just a few gray streaks in very black hair.

I have met several women who had great funky colors in their grey hair, but all of them complained that it was really difficult to get it to stay. Apparently grey hair is less porous. I would have thought it was the other way around.

still easier than getting purple to show up on brown, i'm sure ;)
i could never bear to bleach my hair more than to turn it red.

Ok. Good point. I had purple hair in HS and I didn't bleach it first. It didn't look purple except under high intensity lights. The only times I have bleached my hair out was to dye it fluorescent red. Never again. I think my hair will just all fall out pre-emptively should I ever contemplate it again...
However, I have discovered that the Colour Rays from Loreal takes really great on brown hair. I am using the red right now, the closest to purple is the fuscia, though. It really doesn't screw up my hair, which amazes me, and it lasts a fairly long time. Plus I have gotten 4 colorings out of this box so far (bangs and two long parts up front)
