Even my dreams are mundane
Last night I had a dream where telophase wanted to get a "Haneda Hawk", which were apparently not a sports team real hawks but some sort of cockatiel. These were very rare birds that were indigenous only to the area around Haneda airport in Japan. Today I'm leaving the back door open for the cats to run in and out of because it's warmer out there than it is in here and I'm hoping for some air exchange. Our house is weird in so many ways. -
What I'm reading
I'm currently reading The Deed of Paksenarrion by Elizabeth Moon, which is three books rolled in to one omnibus edition. I am currently on to book 2 of 3 and I have to say that I love the world setting and the events going on are pretty awesome, but it's a real shame the main character has barely any personality and the writing manages to condense ( Read more... ) -
Darn you, cloud cover!
So, that was the "almost total" partial eclipse I didn't get to see. Instead it just looked like we were about to get some snow or maybe a thunderstorm, but no, we don't even get that. I was just trying to look up reference images of women with a faux-hawk since I realised that one of my old creations sported one (I'm so out of sync with "style" that it didn't even occur to me that it was an actual, legitimate haircut), but a lot of the pictures I found on Google don't look anything like a 'hawk. I was very sad when I checked in to G+ and my entire stream was pretty much nothing but people telling me Leonard Nimoy had passed away. He's one of a handful of celebrities I am truly sorry to see leave us. Ow! For the last several weeks my shoulders have been killing me, but only when I come downstairs and sit at my computer. Today I downloaded the Charlemagne DLC for Crusader Kings 2. This meant that after 4 generations of occupying a hefty chunk of England my Norse "invader" could finally crown himself King of Jorvik.
