Sunday dining

Another Sunday has gone into the books of boring Sundays. . .well I guess this one had a little more interest.

All was plodding along as normal with supper nigh ready: the chicken roasted to perfection; the salad made and waiting on the counter; and the wild rice that takes an hour to cook was off the burner and gently steaming for the last 10 ( Read more... )

Excellent pic! The Avian predator we have doesn't nest on my property but close by, the Red-Tailed Hawk. What's amazing is that in my lifetime this once skittish raptor now glares at passing cars if it's munching on a raccon or possum roadkill.
My folks sometimes get cranes in their fishpond, which make short work of the anti-racoon netting and snarf up the inhabitants. SInce my folks just buy reguar goldfish(which if left unsnarfed can grow quite big...), they don't mind sharing....with the cranes and one ready fucked up Pelican!

beautiful pics. I haven't seen owls in ages but I know they're around. Day time hunting around here is mostly chicken hawks and a few smaller hawks. I found that if you crouch on the ground and make mouse noises, they'll circle in for a closer look 'til they realize it ain't dinner.
