We're alive. We're in Dallas metro area right now waiting until we can return home. Carey hasn't gotten any information from the Coast Guard about being allowed access to New Orleans. So we're staying put for the moment.

Are you planning on leaving some bags packed?

Yeah. Even when we return to New Orleans there is still Tropical Storm Ike and Tropical Storm Josephine to worry about. So when we get back we'll be repacking our emergency evacuation kit. Now that we've evacuated once we have a good idea of the things we'll need next time so they will be added to our Hurricane Kit.

Yeah right now the thought of just hunkering down and weathering them out is really appealing. :p

Me too honestly. I'm glad that Hurricane Gustav wasn't a huge impact on where we live. I feel sorry for all the people in the Caribbean who were devastated by Gustav and now are getting pounded by Hanna and then Ike is showing up soon. Especially Haiti! They're such a poor country.

Although if we have to evacuate again I'm not sure I want to come to Dallas. The trip was so long and Emma did pretty well but everyone else was heading to Dallas as well.

Just reiterating what has been said...I'm glad to hear from you as well. You guys were very much in my thoughts on Saturday and I basically let people know why I was distracted mentally. ♥
