I knooooow, right? I was getting all worked up over the Booth/Perotta flirting (am sorry. am a baby. but he's not ALLOWED to look at anyone else with twinkly eyes), and then they go and give us something cute like that. I think they knew the viewers needed reassured, too. "Forget about Agent Perotta."
