Chapter 1
Joon looked at his team. They all looked like they could have crapped themselves and fainted. Joon showed no emotion; he would wait until after they won.
“Are you ready?”
“YES!”
“Good! Let’s go kick some ass!!”
~
“Noona,” whined CheolYong as his older sister pulled him down the street. HimYeon had been talking about this guy named Lee Joon for ages and it was getting on CheolYong’s nerves. He didn’t want to hear about some guy his sister liked. He needed to think about his grades and staying on top of things at school.
“CheolYong, pick up your feet and stop dragging them!!” She pulled hard and nearly rammed her brother into a brick wall.
“Why do I have to come?! Can’t you have brought one of your friends?!”
“They all like him!! I am competing against them!”
Her eyes burn like flames and CheolYong was disgusted.
“What, do you want to date this Joon guy or something?”
“Yes, I wonder what he looks like na….”
“HimYeon!!”
“Oh shut up!”
CheolYong was dragged all the way to the basketball court in the lower class part of town. The buildings were old and dark reds and browns. Mostly all of the windows of different buildings were broken. It gave CheolYong an eerie feeling.
“Oh there he is!!”
HimYeon yanked her brother through the crowd of people. He apologized every time she pushed someone. He noticed the crowd was split. Males were everywhere just as girls were. The men came from two groups: one was the nerdy group, where the boys wished they could be like the players, and two was the fit boys who wished they were on the court. The girls were the same: the first group was the sluts that all mostly likely wanted…Joon and the second group were the outcast girls who wanted to be like the sluty girls to get the hot guys.
CheolYong rolled his eyes; the world was a mess. HimYeon pulled them to the front of the line where they could see everything. HimYeon screamed Joon’s name like all the other girls and CheolYong sat down and began to read the book he had brought with him.
~
Joon dribbled the ball and faked a shot. The enemy took the bait and Joon wove around him and scored. His team surrounded him and clapped him on the back. The game was half way over and they were winning. Joon walked to his team’s bench and grabbed his water bottle. Taking long gulps, he looked at the crowd. He could mostly see girls screaming his name, but he ignored them.
No one suited him at all. SeungHo came up and smiled at Joon.
“We’re doing good right, Changsun?”
“You’re doing great.”
“Thanks.”
“No problem.”
SeungHo and Joon talked awhile while the other team and members of their own team talked to people in the crowd.
“See any one you like?”
“Nope.”
Joon took a sip of his water, but stopped. SeungHo noticed the younger man’s pause.
“Joon?”
“SeungHo hyung.”
SeungHo did a double take. Joon had called him hyung. Something has mesmerized him.
“What?”
“Check out that hottie over there.”
Joon pointed to a bench that wasn’t hidden by the crowd or blocked by the chain fence. The bench was near the crowd, right near it and SeungHo didn’t realize who Joon was pointing at.
“Near the bench?”
“Yeah.”
“I see; oh, you’re right, a total hottie.”
“Yeah, he’s gorgeous.”
Joon walked away and SeungHo kept nodding.
“Yep, wait! HE?!”
Joon began to walk toward CheolYong, but the game had to start again. Joon sighed and went back. SeungHo, who was still shocked, didn’t say anything when Joon came back. Soon the game was in play.
~
CheolYong continued to read his book and ignored everyone around him. He was listening to F(x)’s Chu in his head. If things stayed like this he wouldn’t mind being there, but….
SMACK
The basketball being used in the game had smacked CheolYong’s book out of his hands. CheolYong felt his face burn and anger swell in him. He hated jocks!
“Sorry about that,” said a deep voice as sweet as Christmas and cake all in the same day.
CheolYong looked up and saw the most beautiful man he had ever seen, but he was still pissed. CheolYong was going to retort, but the man talked again.
“Well aren’t you cute,” he said to CheolYong.
The crowd had frozen when the ball was knocked out of play. Now everyone was on pins and needles watching Joon and CheolYong.
“But,”
He reached down and picked up CheolYong’s book. He talked closer to him and bent down.
“You’re even cuter up close,” the man stated looking up at the young eighteen year old boy.
Guys in the crowd questioned Joon’s lines and the girl’s were turning on CheolYong, but stopping because the boy was gorgeous. While this was happening SeungHo was internally slapping himself for letting it happen. CheolYong didn’t say anything to the stranger.
“I’m Lee Joon. What’s your name, Cutie?”
“Bang CheolYong and don’t call me Cutie.”
“Then what will it be? Princess?”
CheolYong scowled and Joon smiled.
“You’re sexy when you’re mad. I like that.”
“JOON!!” yelled SeungHo.
“Well, got to go. Bye, CheolYong.”
Joon turned and ran back onto the court leaving CheolYong shaken and giddy. He didn’t like either feeling.
~
“CheolYong, you ass hole!” yelled HimYeon.
He ignored her.
“You stole Joon!”
“I did not.”
“You’re right. He was getting close to you so he could come after me later.”
“Sure, sis.”
~
Joon choked down his laugh at HimYeon’s talking. The girl was so full of herself and was sick. Joon walked behind them and ran up to CheolYong when a car caused the siblings to stop.
“Hey, CheolYong.”
CheolYong froze; it was Joon. HimYeon perked up and began to smile.
“Hi, Joon.”
“Hi,” he answered back not moving from in front of CheolYong or taking his eyes off the younger boy.
“I’m so happy you won,” HimYeon said.
“The boys and I are, too.”
“You know we have a dancing studio at our house.”
“You do?”
Joon was still looking at CheolYong. CheolYong was uncomfortable, but was happy to see Joon again. The older boy made him feel better…somehow.
“Yeah, we never use it and you are free to use it if you like.”
HimYeon clicked her tongue and cocked her head to the side.
“I would love to. Where do you live?”
“East Crescent. 1243.”
“What’s your number CheolYong?”
“I’ll give it to you.”
HimYeon pulled out a piece of paper and wrote down the number.
“This is our house phone and this is my brother’s cell phone. Dad took mine.”
“Thanks.”
Joon smiled at CheolYong, who glared back.
“Good night, beautiful.”
Joon stepped forward and quickly kissed CheolYong’s cheek before he could stop him.
“Don’t let the June bugs bite.”
CheolYong rolled his eyes and fixed his heated glare on Joon.
“Do something like that again asshole and I’ll rip your nuts off.”
“I think we need to get to know each other better before we do that.”
CheolYong growled.
“There’s that sexy face again. Well good night, Cutie.”
He blew CheolYong a kiss who was fuming like a volcano. When Joon was gone HimYeon sighed.
“He’s so hot!”
