Summary: "I could kill you right here, you know," Donghae hissed with glaring eyes as he walked closer to the redhead.

"Sure," the other responded with a freaking grin on his features, "but what's the fun in that?" he added, totally cool with the fact that a bullet was about to go through his skull. It was part of his job description, anyway.
A/N: Lots of thanks and cookies to honey_x_flavor. This wouldn't have happened if you weren't so awesome♥
I had lots of fun writing this, hope you enjoy it, guys 8DD

Donghae winced as he watched that bodyguard's body fall limp with a thud. He'd already asked to be given a technique other than drugging to get rid of them. Too much waiting, too much noise. He needed something simple and clean.

Never once rising to his full height, he carefully stepped over the body lying on the tiled floor of the veranda. (Excuse me, huge veranda. Everything was huge in this house. Even the building itself.) Inching towards the glass door that led to the interior, his eyes struggled in the dark, making sure that the coast was clear.

His hands fell to the tool belt hanging around his waist securely. His fingers hesitated over the lock-pick, but taking a second glance at the lock of the entrance, he quickly opted for the glass cutter. He was no amateur, anyway.

Placing his left hand against the surface in front of him, his other used the tool to draw a circle. He didn't want to boast, but hell, he made neat circles.
Tucking the cutter in his belt again, he formed a fist and knocked against the glass. His eyes squinting, he stared as the round piece of glass fell to the ground in almost slow motion. He didn't exactly wait to check for any reactions or movements. He didn't expect any.

His hand made it through the hole he had just created and reached for the knob, following a downward motion. Just like that, he was in.

*****

His first thoughts were 'Oh goddamn.' and 'Jesus, how freaking rich is this dude?' as his eyes drank in every smallest detail. In his career as a hitman, he had broken into numerous houses, killed numerous guys, and all of them had a certain luxury. But this. This was beyond his imagination.

Each room was about the size of his whole apartment, the furniture and technologic pieces were the latest and most expensive, and gold decorated every surface possible. Gold.
Gee, that Lee SooMan must have committed a whole lot of jobberies in his life so far.

Suddenly, somewhere lost in his thoughts, a creeping feeling made him come back to reality. Donghae somehow knew there was someone behind him. He could almost sense their breath on the back of his neck. Turning his head around, his orbs frantically started looking for someone. Anyone.

However, he was only greeted with peace. No figure, no noise, no nothing. He silently blamed his brain for its non-professionalism.

Deciding to finally continue and just get over with it, he crouched even more as he followed that path he knew he should take. Just a little more and he should be there, according to what he had been told.

And it all looked so easy until the moment he came in front of two doors. Two doors. Now that was something Leeteuk hadn't told him about, and why is an informative considered useful if he doesn't give you the goddamn right information?
Sighing quietly, he threw his head back as his eyes fell closed. Recollecting and advising himself not to lose it now, he decided he would have a good talk with his friend right after finishing the job. All he had for the time was his self.

'Okay, let's take a look' he thought, studying both doors. They were practically identical, the only difference being that the one on the left was locked in a million different ways, while the other one was barely closed. Something that's protected is important, right? Trusting his instincts, his hands were once again fiddling on his tool belt, and his eyes were figuring out where to start from when-

"That's obviously a trap, you know," a voice echoed in the room, not loud but not whispered either. It was a rather confident, teasing voice, and it made Donghae's blood rush faster as he turned around, looking towards the direction the sound came from. He didn't have to wait for long as a figure stepped out from the shadows and soft light fell upon the intruder's face. He froze as he immediately recognised who it was. Of-fucking-course.

"What are you doing here?" the other asked, his red hair looking as if it was on fire, a great contrast against the sharp black of his attire, shielded and armed, much like Donghae's.

"You tell me, last time I saw you you were jumping off a six-storey-building's roof," a frown was formed and he raised his chin, subconsciously defending himself.

The other, however, ignored the comment "Last time I saw you you were scrawny and stupid-faced," he said, looking up and down the slightly shorter man, smirk on his lips "Not much has changed," he challenged, and not to his surprise, a gun was raised and pointed right to the center of his forehead.

"I could kill you right here, you know," Donghae hissed with glaring eyes as he walked closer to the redhead.

"Sure," the other responded with a freaking grin on his features, "but what's the fun in that?" he added, totally cool with the fact that a bullet was about to go through his skull. It was part of his job description, anyway.

Donghae only sighed. He knew the other was right. Life as a hitman was dull without some challenge and damn, the other man was a challenge, alright.
Eunhyuk, as the taller liked to be called, was considered a professional. He was a myth, a role-model for all the aspiring amateurs. Top of the top, right there, against Donghae.

The two of them had been competing each other for years, neck and neck. Whenever Eunhyuk won, Donghae would struggle to make him lose the next time, just for the thrill of saying he did so. He still remembers that incident last year, when the redhead jumped right off the roof of an outrageously high building. He dived into thin air and everybody was frozen, as if struck by lightning. Them and Donghae alike, the latter thinking everything in between 'Finally' and 'Oh God no'.

"Bastard," he mumbled as he lowered his Para-Ordnance labeled gun.

"Jerk," he heard the other retort and he was just a second away from punching him, when he finally realised what he had been doing; losing his concentration and fooling around when he should be in that bedroom, shooting that son of a bitch he had been payed to kill.

Turning his back to the other, he resumed his previous task "Whatever, sit here and lose your time all you want. I have a hit to deliver."

"You never learn, do you," Eunhyuk said, but got no response whatsoever. Sighing theatrically, he stood right before the other door, hand on the knob. "I just figured you'd like to follow the right path," he shook his head and a finger of his other hand fell off his ear, revealing a black, subtle earpiece. "Kyuhyun says hi, by the way," he smirked before opening the door and leaving the room.

Donghae's head snapped at that. Eunhyuk works with Cho Kyuhyun, that freaking computer whiz, while he's stuck with Leeteuk? Standing up, he strode quickly towards the destination the other had walked to, shortly catching up with him.

"Yeah, I thought so," he said, smirking yet again. Donghae wondered what the heck was up with this man.

*****

They had been sneaking around aimlessly for more than 10 minutes when Donghae was finally fed up. "If this is just your plan to get me lost in this maze you're so screwed," he warned, his voice low and his eyes looking around almost in panic. Almost.

"Oh shut up, I'm doing you a favor," the other replied and his tone suggested that he was aware of his superiority, that he felt like he was schooling the younger man.

Then a thought hit Donghae and his eyes slightly bulged. He had seen no signs of breaking in on his way here. How did Eunhyuk enter? Or had he not even needed to break in? What if SooMan was suspicious and had hired him to-

Shit.

All logic leaving him, his instincts kicked in and he almost couldn't control his body as forcefully pounced on the other, causing him to fall to his back, creating a loud thud -which didn't quite matter at the time- as he landed on top of him. "You think I wouldn't understand?" he growled low on his throat, his fist rising up high and ready to smash against that damn pretty face when he felt strong hands grabbing him just before his back hit the floor.

"What the-" he said, his head dizzy from the sudden movement.

"Yeah well Sungmin and I have been practicing," his voice had an air of superiority yet again.

Sungmin. Psh.
Using all his strength this time, he rolled them around once more, and he was now sitting with determination on the other's lap, his legs awkwardly locked around Eunhyuk's own, but securely enough so as not to be able to move again.

"He payed you to stall me and kill me, didn't he?" Donghae came back to the matter at hand, his eyes squinting and mean.

"What the hell are you talking about, man?" the other asked in surprise, as his hands were thrown into the air, questioning. "You know I need to off him as much as you do," his stare intense.

"And why should I believe you?" he glared.

The expression on Eunhyuk's face was thoroughly amused. "Dude, don't you think I would have already killed you if I wanted to? Don't underestimate me," he grinned.

Well, he was kinda right. It did take him a second or two to think it over, though. "No tricks?"

"No tricks," he reassured. "Well, for now at least," he whispered, chuckling softly to himself.

Donghae's face softened a little. Well that calmed him a bit.

"Now, not that I'm complaining that much, but get off me," the taller ordered, smirk constantly evident on his face.

Donghae fought back a blush and averted his eyes as he let go of his weird grip on the other, standing up on his own legs. Turning around, he left the other there while he started walking with his head down. "Not helping you up."

*****

"Remind me why I'm following you?" Donghae asked while they were passing by a huge velvet couch, in what seemed to be the equally huge living room. One of the three of them.

"Uhm, I don't know, because I have the correct directions?" irony was dripping from his tongue and his eyes flew up to check the bright red light coming from a corner opposite them.

"So it was you that had the cameras de-activated before-hand?" the shorter asked, dismissing the sarcastic tone of the other. Well, it's not like he couldn't have done it himself or anything, but hey, it did help him a little.

"Him," he responded, a long, bony finger pointing to the earpiece he was wearing. His eyes kept traveling everywhere, making sure.

"Oh, about that, has he been working for you all along? How the heck did you manage to come in contact with him?" he sounded surprised and interested, and he was. He was totally relaxing now and he shouldn't, but he hadn't quite realised yet.

"God, you talk a lot," Eunhyuk remarked and Donghae shut it.

*****

A specific brunette was itching to ask 'Are we there yet?' soon after they had their latest conversation. His fingers were idly playing with the tools still attached around his waist.

"Damn, stop fiddling, it's distracting me," Eunhyuk whispered and added "We have to get past the dining room, then up the stairs, and the master bedroom is right ahead. Okay now?"

"Yeah whatever," he looked away, partly because he knew he looked like a kicked puppy.

They were entering another room now, a room that smelled of something expensive and heavy, much like the rest of the house, but this particular scent was rather delicious. A long, beautifully carved wooden table was taking up most of the space, chairs surrounding it, and the only other furniture was a massive buffet, a spectacular mirror hanging above it. This looked an awful lot like the movies, Donghae noted to himself, and made sure that when he became a billionaire, he'd make his own villa even greater.

He suddenly stilled while walking by the buffet, and the movement didn't go unnoticed by Eunhyuk, who had already walked a few steps ahead.

Turning around, he watched in disbelief as the shorter dug his hand into a big, round vase full of what seemed to be... candy?

"I can't believe you," he mumbled almost desperately, his hands needing to hide his face. "You're a fucking hitman. One that even competes me, and you stop in the middle of a serious job to eat candy?" he asks, emphasising a word here and there, as he walked back towards the other.

Donghae shrugged as he unwrapped a purple foil and popped something equally purple into his mouth. Eunhyuk looked into the vase too, and he used his hand to browse through the huge number of teeth-rotting treats in it.

"Don't tell me you ate the last raspberry one!" he looked accusingly at the younger.

"I so did," the other replied, satisfied with the scandalised expression on Eunhyuk's face.

The redhead soon smirked once more and took Donghae by surprise when he leaned in sneakily, right hand grabbing the shorter's jaw and stilling him there, as his lips fell upon the other's. Taking advantage of his shock, he slipped his tongue in the brunette's mouth, searching, until he felt the round small bead he was looking for. Humming because of the flavour, he carried on, slick muscle swiping the candy away, tucking it safe behind his own lips as he pulled back. He was grinning.

"Think again," he teased, turning around once more and walking straight ahead.

Donghae willed his legs not to turn into jelly just yet, and tried to hurry after the other.

That damn bastard.

*****

"Y-You said it's right after the stairs, right?" Donghae asked, trying to sound as calm as he could.

"Yep," the other responded, lifting his hand just enough to check the watch around his wrist. Despite what he thought, it was still early.

"So, uh, when do we start racing against each other for the man's throat?" the shorter questioned. That was the logic, obviously.

"Whenever," Eunhyuk replied shrugging.

Donghae nodded to the other, and his head turned just as they were reaching the 1/3 of the stairs. "But we still have time, right?" he smiled.

"True," he copied the smile.

Walking a few steps higher, Donghae stopped and turned half-way around, stepping backwards, soon bumping against the wooden rails. "Lots of time?"

"Enough time," smirking again, Eunhyuk walked towards the shorter, trapping him between his body and the staircase.

"Good," was all he responded, inviting the other to take the lead.

"So...," he said, moving his face even closer to Donghae's, lips only inches apart, while he settled his hands against the rails.

The brunette seemed really satisfied, grinning like the cat that had caught the canary. "So... I'll see you later!" he exclaimed before ducking quickly, slipping right under Eunhyuk's arms, both of whose wrists were tied expertly to the wood, hard rope burning his skin. He was a sly little thing.

"Better luck next time," he said before running up, however still not making any noise, leaving Eunhyuk looking amused but disappointed at the same time.

*****

The redhead was right, Donghae realised as he easily reached the target's bedroom. This was definitely going to be one of the biggest achievements in his whole career.Slowly and -really- carefully turning the knob, the door opened without making no sound at all, not even the usual whining. If only all of his missions were like that.

His eyes spotted the figure lying on the bed sleeping peacefully -oh that's what Donghae wanted to help him do- and his hands reached both sides of his belt, one hand taking his precious gun, and the other grasping his silencer. Joining both parts together, hands moving on their own accord, he danced a little dance of victory mentally. Finally.

Inching closer, he raised his arms, the one of them supporting the other, and he tried to aim, taking one step at a time when-

he barely registered something fluffy and long under one of his feet, a high-pitched scream tearing the air apart and light filling the room, heavy steps all around him.

"Not the cat you idiot!" a familiar voice reached his ears.

*****

Next thing he knew, two strong arms wrapped around him, and then came a sensation of flying, sound of glass smashing in a million pieces, just before everything goes blank.
