Strange Angels -- The 'Verse

"This is nothing like I thought it would be."
- Laurie Anderson from "Strange Angels"

Centuries have passed since the sealing of the Grigori, and the children of the Nephilim walk the earth. Sam and Dean stumble across the Circle of Enoch, finding themselves in the midst of a prophecy that Sam is destined to fulfill.

This AU version of Supernatural takes place sometime after Devil's Trap, where all three of the Winchesters survived the confrontation with the Demon. After what seems like a chance encounter with a succubus in a college bar, Dean and Sam learn about the Circle of Enoch - and the Enochian Prophecy that the Circle has sworn to fulfill; a prophecy where Sam is "the Destroyer" and his Ascension is the precursor to Armageddon. There's no way in hell the Winchesters are going to let that happen. Fortunately for them, the Winchesters have some help between the contacts John has made and members of the Circle who still believe in its true purpose - that the Blessed Children are meant to protect the world from the Grigori. But how do you stop Armageddon with nothing but a book bag full of notes and a glowing sword?

Stories are complete unless noted otherwise, and are listed below in chronological order. Vignettes within the larger storyline are set off accordingly:

  • The Square Root of Pi - Dean hated Poughkeepsie but at least he wasn't the one starting high school there. Sam/Sally. Sam POV. Teen!Chesters. Het. PG-13.

  • Iambic Pentameter and Other Methods of Elizabethan Torture - Sam kept telling himself that he was writing the sonnet for those ten extra points on his Shakespeare project. Besides, it wasn't like anyone but Mr. Duran was going to read it, anyway. Sam/Sally. Sam POV. Teen!Chesters. Het. PG-13.

  • If You Try Sometimes - His birthday wasn't something to commemorate with noisemakers and chocolate cake. Sam, Sally, Jess. Sam POV. Stanford Era. Gen. PG-13.

  • Strange Angels - While tracking down a succubus in Wisconsin, The Winchesters encounter the Circle of Enoch, an organization working to fulfill an Enochian prophecy. Dean and Sam learn secrets about their heritage as Beata, descendants of the Nephilim, and Dean ends up making a deal with a girl neither Winchester should trust. All three are led to Madison, GA, by a newspaper article about gargoyles - but they're up against a lot more than they bargained for when Dean is Called to save a little girl. Dean/OFC, Dean/Charlotte. Dean POV, Sam POV, Charlotte POV. Het. R.

    • Come On, The Rising Wind - There's a song in everything if you slow down long enough to find it. Dean/Charlotte. Charlotte POV. Het. G.

    • A Song and a Smile for the Banjo - The first time he heard it, a screech coming from the bathroom screaming something about extra sugar and extra salt along with some freaking hip hop beat, he’d thought it was just the song. Dean/Charlotte. Dean POV. Het. PG.

    • Everything in Life is Only For Now - He was dreaming of her again, the way she screamed with her hair streaming around her, and the demon inside was a dark stain rattling through his hips. Sam/Jess, Dean/Charlotte. Sam POV. Het. PG.

    • All Around You Earth Turns to Fire - The heart always remembers regret. Dean/Charlotte. Charlotte POV. Het. R.

    • Instructions for Dancing - They fell without even realizing it, betrayed by quiet moments with Sam as their only witness. Dean/Charlotte. Sam POV. Het. PG.

    • There's a Fine, Fine Line - Why do we always push away the people who matter the most? Dean/Charlotte. Charlotte POV. Het. PG-13.

  • Beneath the Hollow - The night Mary died, John Winchester vowed that the Circle of Enoch wouldn't lay a finger on Sam - and he's spent the last twenty-three years building a group of Hunters who will defy the Circle at every turn. Still a work in progress. Dean/Charlotte. Sam/OFC. Dean POV. Sam POV. Charlotte POV. Het. NC-17.

    • I just keep losing my beat - At least they were letting him have a couple of shots between the hand waving and the quarter tossing and that stupid rhyme they kept reciting in Latin. Dean/Charlotte. Dean POV. Het. PG-13.

    • There is nowhere else to run - He couldn’t get past her scars any more than he’d get over the look in her eyes when she realized what he had called her. Dean/Charlotte, Sam/Charlotte. Sam POV. Het. PG.

    • Backdoor Man - Sam found the bar but Dean found the blonde. Dean/Charlotte. Dean POV. Het. NC-17.

    • Sharp Dressed Man - Sam could make cracks about chicks digging a man in uniform until he was blue in the face but it wouldn't change a thing. There was a reason why Dean Winchester didn't play dress up unless it was for a job and her name was Betty Lou Perkins. Even her sister thought she was the Antichrist with pom-poms. Dean/Charlotte, Dean/OFCs. Dean POV. Het. NC-17.

    • Punk Rock Girl - It was his own damn fault, letting a Latin scholar in a granny sweater sweet talk him into it with a tiny 'harder' and a dare that scratched down his back like a promise. Dean/Charlotte. Dean POV. Het. NC-17.

    • When All Logic Grows Cold - "Maybe I'm the one who should be teaching you a lesson or two." Dean/Charlotte. Charlotte POV. Het. NC-17.

    • Fingers on the Hot Coal - On the road trip to Armageddon, ghosts and vampires were supposed to be the easy gigs. Dean/Charlotte, Dean/Charlotte/Sam. Charlotte POV. Het. NC-17.
