one (somewhat) eventful day =)
Got my CPR C =) hehe. It ended like 3 hours earlier than it was supposed to so I volunteered at watermania till my mom picked me up.
it was so exciting!! cuz I was there during one of their busy days and dude was it busy!! and there were soooo many ppl on deck with street clothes so the guards were getting all frustrated and stuff. And yeah!! I talked to some kids hehe =) and it was so awesome. I was guarding with this girl (Kara was her name I think) and she was really nice but paranoid I think. Haha she kept on saying the kids are gonna drown and won't let lil kids go into the deep end. And she told me she's had to jump in a bunch of times she guarded at the wave pool. So I guarded with her for a while until she went off. Then I guarded with this other girl (Penny was her name I think) at the wave pool and like 2 minutes later she was running to the end of the wave pool, blew her whistle, and jumped in cuz this lil boy couldn't swim and neither could his mom so they were both sorta drowning. It was sooooooooo cool!! the alarms when off and replacement guards came running over. Hehe it was like an action movie!! But yes, I felt kinda lost cuz I couldn't really do anything. Anyhoo the shift supervisor (Sam) told me to go clean the women's changing room. I was so excited!! Hehe I mean, first time on my own! But yes... basically what you do is hose the place clean and pick up the garbage. I started at 4:20. I finished at 5:20. It had taken me a full HOUR to clean the freakin' place. Let me tell you now it is NOT fun. Argh. I mean most people were really nice but others were just like... argh!! HELLLLOOOOOO LADY!! I'm cleaning this place for YOUR enjoyment and I'm not even getting paid!! So anyway, yeah I was getting really pissed off in the end cuz I had to wear these really disgusting gum boots provided by the pool cuz I'd forgotten to bring my flip flops, and the stupid hose was all tangled up and stuff. Oh and I kept on accidentally spraying people. SORRY!! but I tried!! And in the end I discovered my gloves had all split apart. A hella lot of good that did to me. ew ew ew. Stupid plastic things. No wonder doctors have to wear multiple gloves or w/e the rule is. Anyhoo... yes it was quite an experience. I am NEVER gonna do it again. Unless I get paid haha. And even then if I have to =)
