Nighttime. Everyone was seemingly asleep. Not Rei. Rei was sitting next to his crush, Kai.
"Kai, you know what?" Rei said. There was no answer. "I’ll tell you what. I really like you, Kai." Silence. "You’re so adorable and mysterious," came words upon giggles. "Can I give you a kiss, pretty please?" Quiet. "A kiss would make me the happiest boy in the world. You know I have a crush on you. I love your crimson red eyes. The way you stare into the sky, your eyes aren’t like mine. Just by looking at me, you know what I’m feeling. By looking in your eyes, I can’t see anything. Why can’t I, Kai? Don’t you want people to know what you’re feeling?" Rei began to stroke Kai’s beautiful hair, saying his name as though it were the name of a god.
"What the hell are you doing?" came Kai’s voice.
"Kai! I-I thought you were asleep!" gasped Rei.
"Until you started talking, I was," mumbled Kai. The same silence lingered among them. Rei wondered what would happen next. Would he get the kiss he longed for? He stared into crimson eyes. Would he get to see what was behind those eyes? Why wasn’t Kai doing anything? Now Rei started to become annoyed. The expression in his eyes changed, and the other boy noticed.
"Rei, you’re adorable with that expression on your face."
"W-what?" His expression changed once more, to that of a confused child. Slowly, Kai’s face moved closer to Rei’s, his eyes closed. Kissing. They were kissing. Rei got the kiss he was longing for. Kai liked him. He unlocked those cold eyes. Upon them both opening their eyes, Rei saw a different expression. Red eyes showing lust. Beautiful, beautiful.
"Goodnight, Rei."
