Please please please don't go on a hiatus! This was the only living x 1999 icon competition community on Livejournal, and I just found out about it! I was waiting for a new contest to begin, please don't go on hiatus!
I definetely like this idea on another x 1999 icon contst, but would you be able to run both, this one and the new one, or would you just do the new one? Either way, I truly hope you stay with atleast one, for the sake of all x 1999 lovers out there.
The likelihood is that I'll just run something like x1999_icontest, since participation in this community has seriously waned. This is a good thing, I promise...X/1999 shall still have an icontest...if that's what the people want.
So, like I was saying, don't worry about it! Things will be up and running (one way or another) soon enough!

I think the best option is to make an X general icontest, because there's already been some of our past regular members expressing why they don't join the challenges anymore. I think from our oldest active members, there's just m1ch1ru and me. So I think a general contest would be a better idea. With a good mod (you) and co-mod, it could have potential. XD
Ahem. Righto. Enough of the Spanish tears, but really, I'm really sad that this icontest is going on haitus. It's understandable, with all the extentions that are given, but it really is a shame. I'd definitely participate if you make another x1999 icontest though! Unlike some of the other series, X1999 has plenty of pictures to make icons out of, and the themes can vary widely, so, um... Please? ^_^ If you must abandon this one, make another?
In any case, thanks for the Best Adaption ^^. I love a banner, please.

And it's true...every day I find more new X/1999 images (gallery.aethereality.net just uploaded a ton- some of which I've never seen good copies of), so I don't think the fans will be disappointed.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want to disabandon this community...but it seems like I don't have much choice if people won't submit. I'm sorry...but I guess I'm just looking forward to greater expectations (cliche, I know).
So, all in all, don't worry. Everything will be okay. XD
I'm very sorry to hear that this community's going on hiatus - but I suppose you have a good reason to do so. :| I applaude all your efforts to keep this community up and running; few mods have the time/effort to do what you did. ♥ You are a great moderator. I'll always remember this community; all the icons were extrememly creative and wonderful to vote on each week. :D
As for another X/1999 icontest - I say most definitely yes. I would love to see another working one; and I would join it. ^^; X is one of the those quite well-known series, and it has no shortage of images, so if another community is met with low participation, I would be extremely surprised. :| At any rate - you have my interest.
I currently am running three icontests- including this one, clamp_hush, and clamp_visual, and I was going to mod a clamp_lims but it never got off the ground. I try and do what I can for my communities because I love each and every one of them to death, and it lets me get away for being terrible at icon-making, that's why I created this community.
Like I said, I'm not doing this because I want to, I'm doing this because I have to...if people aren't inspired enough to submit, there's no point in creating more challenges. Thank you for the complements, though...you made me blush!
If I get enough positive feedback, I fully intend on making one. I think there are a lot more options with something like a X/1999_icontest, and it wouldn't be limited to just lyrical challenges. I'm glad to hear that I have your support, it means a lot.
