Summary: Ten years later, five individuals return to Tokyo.
The city seemed so different now than it did back then. Back when the city laid in destruction, citizens fleeing for their lives, desperately trying to get away before more family members died due to the deadly earthquakes.
Now though, there were barely any signs that the city had gone through a tragedy. Everything had been rebuilt and people once again walked the busy streets as they went about their lives, with only distant memories of what happened a short time ago.
Even Rainbow Bridge had been rebuilt which was the biggest shock for Subaru as he visited the city which he once called home, once tried to save, and once tried to destroy. Of course he had heard about the rebuilt, even in the distant country he had fled to afterwards covered news of the event as Japan picked up her pieces and moved on; but seeing it made every thing so much more real.
He had intended to stay away, wanting to forget the painful memories of the past but on the anniversary of the destruction he had found himself being called back to the hateful place.
Standing on the edge of one of the supports, Subaru stared down at the water which had consumed Seishirou’s body. His right-eye ached at the memory and even now, ten years later, Subaru wanted to believe that somehow the Sakurazukamori had survived, even though he knew it wasn’t possible.
He had nothing to offer the watery grave. Somehow he knew that Seishirou wouldn’t want that. All he had was his memories and the eye that Seishirou had left him.
Closing his eyes, Subaru vowed that he wouldn’t cry. His tears had been used up long ago; for Hokuto… and for Seishirou. They had been his life and they were both gone, leaving him behind in a miserable world. Although he was happy that Kamui won, there were times, when alone and when thinking about the past, that he wished it had been Fuuma.
Later that night, Subaru found himself drawn to another familiar location, Tokyo Tower. It seemed like a lifetime ago when he and Seishirou had together helped a spirit move on to the other side. He never did see Seishirou anywhere… or Hokuto. He hoped they were happy wherever they were. Having a lingering attachment to the living world wasn’t healthy.
He didn’t stay long at Tokyo Tower, he didn’t want to stay long in any place in case someone else was drawn back to the city that night; the night celebrating the anniversary of when the war ended and the human race survived. He had seen none of them since then, even though he’d never forget. They had shared something back then, even the ones one the opposite side of the war, something that normal people wouldn’t understand.
But even then, it would be too awkward to see them again, except maybe Fuuma and Kamui but he doubted that either one of them would want to return. They more than anyone else would want to forget what happened so long ago.
He didn’t know where Kamui and Fuuma were now; probably somewhere far away from Tokyo, attempting to re-patch their life together after what had happened. From friends to enemies to lovers would take an emotional toll on any one; Subaru knew this from experience, even though things had turned out vastly different.
Walking down the busy street, Subaru caught the image of a person he thought he recognized out of the corner of his eye who was walking in the opposite direction. He ignored it however, he had more places to see and then he’d leave the city once more, hopefully for good.

“What is it?” Kamui asked as Fuuma stopped in his tracks and looked behind him at the retreating back of a male individual.
“Nothing,” he replied with a smile as they continued on their way. There was no need to tell Kamui that they weren’t the only one who returned to the city that night. It was suppose to be a quiet trip, just the two of them, not a big reunion. Fuuma had far too many plans for later back at the hotel to be interrupted by former friends… or enemies.
“It’s all different now, isn’t it,” Kamui said as they stopped in front of the Diet Building. There was no point in going inside, Hinoto and the others were all gone. Even if she was still alive, Kamui didn’t want to see her. He had trusted her, they all had, and she betrayed them which almost caused Sorata and Arashi their lives.
Kamui’s thoughts turned back to the present when he felt the tongue on the back of his neck. It didn’t scare him like it use to when Fuuma would do ‘weird’ things to him. Back then it was a shocking change when Fuuma began acting so differently but now he was use to it; able to accept that this was Fuuma.
“Do you want to go visit any place?” Kamui asked, knowing what Fuuma probably had on his mind. Since the end of the war, Fuuma seemed to have a one track mind, claiming he was simply fulfilling Kamui’s wishes.
“No.”
“Not even Kotori’s grave?”
“Do whatever you like,” he replied in a voice that said ‘I’m going to molest you wherever we go so it doesn’t matter’. Kamui knew that even if Fuuma had guilt over Kotori’s death, he would never admit it.
They found the Monou family grave site easily enough. A large crack ran still ran down the middle of the stone from the earthquakes but the names were still readable. Fuuma was quiet for a moment and Kamui wondered what he was thinking. “It was her destiny to die,” he said when he finally spoke. “She wanted it.”
“Yeah…” Kamui replied while remembering his old friend. She had been so full of life and Kamui wondered if perhaps it was best if they hadn’t gone there since it brought up things he didn’t want to remember, like the helplessness he felt after Kotori died.
“Let’s go back to the hotel,” Fuuma suggested so that was what they did; Kamui had enough of the past, it was too depressing.
The hotel was further away than either of them would have liked but eventually they made it. It wasn’t anyplace fancy but at least it wasn’t a capsule hotel; Kamui had no desire to sleep in a coffin and it would be a little cramped for Fuuma to ‘sex it up’ in one, although it certainly wouldn’t be due to a lack of trying, Kamui was small after-all.
Falling onto the bed together, the pair was more than happy to leave the past behind them.

“What are you guys doing?” Sorata asked his three children, two boys and one girl who were over by the wall of their hotel room. They seemed like they were listening intensely to something, but at least they were quiet, they were up past their bedtime and Sorata would be in trouble if their mother found out. Nevertheless they were the joy of Sorata’s life and could often get away with anything. They were definitely a handful though, taking after him more than their mother.
“We hear funny noises Daddy!” his adorable little girl spoke up; she looked so much like her mother, it was eerie. “From next door!”
“Oh?” Waking over the wall, Sorata pressed his ear up against it and listened to what his kids were hearing. His face paled a little when he recognized the noises that his children had been listening to.
“It sounds like Mommy and Daddy’s room!” the little girl declared. “Does that mean Mommy is over there? Mommy!”
“Shh…” Sorata begged, thankful that their mother wasn’t around at the moment. Arashi wanted to be by herself for a while. Although it had been ten years since then, the trap she had fallen into and the cost it almost caused Sorata still affected her greatly. That was why Sorata offered her some space while he babysat their kids.
“What’s going on?” a female voice spoke up and the faces of the kids lit up. “Why are the children still awake?”
“Mommy!” they cried while running over to her for a hug.
“Huh? You’re back soon,” Sorata said, he didn’t mind of course, Arashi looked as stunning and beautiful as she did ten years ago when they first met.
“I felt that my place was here,” she replied while looking down at their children. “Let’s forget the past and do something fun with the kids.”
“Yay!” they cried and Arashi sighed as Sorata joined in with their kid’s celebration. She was convinced at times she had four children to take care of.
They didn’t do anything that night since it was late and Sorata indeed got in trouble for allowing the kids to stay up. The next day though, they’d spend it together as a family, forgetting the past and looking forward to the future.
