So I was in the office after lunch and I thought to myself "well the housing market is taking a br00tal b34ting over this whole subprime mortgage thing." And after laughing heartily at people whose credit is too poor to get a home loan and hence are homeless, I thought I'd see how lending companies were doing. I'm working on it. My promotion next month will give me more money to play with. But I sold my first stock for a 9% gain in two weeks, a pretty good deal. And last night I bought a few hundred shares of Level 3 Communications [they were below their 52 week low] and by the time the market closed it was up 2.75% which for one day is quite good, especially considering it is the first day in weeks they have not LOST money. My mutual funds are also making money. One of them is up 24% this year. So just hang on, I'm getting there.

And I'm still recovering from a pulled muscle from before I deployed so I can't quite go all out, but I'm getting there. Hopefully there will be a 5k I can pwn when I get home. What is YOUR 2 mile time, Miss I Don't Have a Livejournal? Hmm?

Dearest Brendan,

I never run two miles. Go big or go home. I would assume that my time would never exceed 12 minutes. Since training for the marathon, I would be interested to see how quickly I could center my energy for 1/18 of the usual expected time.

Also, Seattle in January?
